Natural and subtle makeup

View summary ↓

Make-up doesn't necessarily serve to transform the face. Used in small quantities, it can simply reduce redness, uniformize the skin or temporarily mask an imperfection.

The principle of invisible makeup is simple: correct only what attracts attention.

01

Prepare the skin

Start with clean and hydrated skin.

A makeup applied to very dry skin further marks texture areas.

Wait a few minutes after hydrating and sun protection before applying anything else.

02

Localized corrector

Instead of covering the entire face, apply a small amount of corrector:

  • on a red button;
  • the inner corner of the eyes;
  • on a spot mark.

Tape with finger or small sponge. Don't rub.

03

Choose the right shade

The product must melt with the neck and the rest of the face.

Too clear a corrector before the eyes can create artificial contrast. For a discreet correction, stay close to the natural color of your skin.

04

Reduce shine

If the T zone shines a lot, a very small amount of translucent powder may suffice.

Not necessarily apply to the whole face: only where necessary.

05

Eyebrow

A transparent gel is often sufficient. If some areas are sparse, use a fine pencil and draw some hairlike features.

06

Eyes

A very light eyelash curve or mascara can strengthen the look without producing an obvious makeup effect.

Brown is sometimes more discreet than black, especially on light skin and hair.

07

Lips

A transparent balm often gives a better result than a very bright product. The main objective is to avoid dry lips.

08

The mirror rule at one metre

After application, step back from the mirror.

If a product is clearly visible at a normal distance, fade further.

People do not look at your face five centimetres away: the result must be assessed under real conditions.

A useful question

How do I avoid visible concealer?

Choose a shade close to your skin and apply a small amount locally. Check the result in natural light.
